WOOHOO CAMP!

KAT IS BACK FROM CAMP!
AND I HAD AN AMAZING TIME!
TODAY IM GONNA TELL YOU ABOUT MY AWESOME WEEK . . . . .
HERE IT GOES.

Hello everyone! This weeks blog post I'm going to talk about my week at camp. So . . . . . . . sorry there is just sooo much stuff that's going on in my brain at the moment. TO MUCH TO SAY ABOUT CAMP! AHH! Ok I've calmed down (phew) and here's my story. There were quite a few challenging things at camp that I did but one of the biggest things was the high ropes. It was really scary that I almost chickened out! But I didn't. It was challenging because its so hard to get up to the main point of the ropes where the activity begins. Sorry if your thinking "WHAT DOES ALL THAT MEAN?"Its just hard to explain. Another reason why it was challenging is because you have to trust the people belaying you not to drop you otherwise you could possibly FALL TO YOUR DEATH, so I had to put all my trust in the people belaying me. (Thanks you guys for not dropping me!)

The easiest thing was probably the bush walk. My reason for this is because, how hard is it to use two legs? EASY. It was also easy because we weren't really walking up all big steep hill so we didn't get tired and exhausted. Camp wasn't quite what I expected it to be because I thought on the first day of activities it would be fun and exciting but no, it was just a plain old bush walk. I'm trying to say this in the nicest way as possible. I also thought we'd do more activities and not have to carry a big day pack everywhere we went.

OK. here comes the part when I tell you my most favorite moment of camp. Are you ready to hear this  . . . . . .  . .
IT WAS TELLING FUNNY STORY AT THE OVERNIGHT CAMP!!!
I LOVED listening to other peoples story and laughed through out everyone of them. The people in my year are just so humerus and crack me up. Olivia's stories were my personal favorites and there were some really other funny ones that I liked too. We all were sitting outside snuggled up next to each other drinking either hot raro or Milo while people told stories. I was really enjoying myself and didn't even get tired or notice what the time was!

In the end, camp was great and I'm sure the year 7's are gonna LOVE it!
QUESTION:  What were your favorite moments  in either camp or EOTC?

WORKING IN GROUPS

THIS WEEK I HAVE BEEN WORKING WITH LOTS OF REALLY COOL PEOPLE IN GROUPS!! ITS BEEN EXTREMELY FUN TO WORK WITH THEM AND GET TO KNOW THEM BETTER. I WILL NOW TELL YOU A BIT MORE ABOUT WORKING IN GROUPS . . . .

I was in a group for the art and for the CWC project. Mostly everything went well and their weren't many faults. We were all kind and friendly to each other and listened to one and an-others ideas and everyone that I was in a group with participated.

Some things that didn't go well was that in the CWC group me and my partner couldn't really decide who should explain about which power point slide to the class. It just got really confusing and distressing (only a little bit) but apart from all that everything was fine.

I think the quality of our work was excellent and It was affected by our group work skills because my partner is really arty so she chose cool backgrounds and we both like to write so we wrote quite a bit of information. I think for the CWC project we did really well and I hope everyone liked our quiz at the end and the little mini Scottish flags I made!

What I can do to help my next group assignment go well is to plan meetings for us to get together and do the work so that only one or two of us have to do it all by themselves. I also think what would make my next assignment better is if we do a big sort of brainstorm of ideas and page layouts so we can know what we are doing.

That was me for this weeks post.
DA-KAT is out (BAM!)

THREE THINGS THAT I HAVE LEARNT . . . . . .

THIS WEEK I MUST TELL YOU ALL THREE THINGS THAT I HAVE LEARNT INCLUDING

SOMETHING ABOUT MY COUNTRY (SCOTLAND).
SOMETHING ABOUT SOMEONE ELSE IN MY CLASS.
AND ONE OTHER SURPRISE THING . . . . . .

OK!
At school I usually learn A MILLION things but the thing is . . . . . .
I CANT REMEMBER ANYTHING THAT I HAVE LEANRT! But I will try remember the three things now.
IM BACK!

My country for the cricket world cup that I am researching is SCOTLAND (woo-hoo!) and I am HAPPY I GOT IT because it is an awesome country! I have learnt that Scotland's biggest mountain is called Ben Nevis and that its located in the Scottish highlands which is one of Scotland's #1 attractions.

Now comes that hard bit. I have to tell you all one thing I have learnt about someone in my class. I happy to say that this person who is represented on my blog is Catherine McKenzie! I learnt that she can read a very massive book in a day!!! I literally was amazed!

The last and surprise thing that I have learnt this week is . . . . . .

Siena's dad has one green eye and one blue eye.
(I know, its kind of weird but "apparently" its true!?)

Ok everyone see you till my next post.

THE ONE AND ONLY DAKOTA FANNING!!

I'VE BEEN WAITING FOREVER TO TELL EVERYONE ABOUT DAKOTA FANNING!
AND NOW . . . . . . . THE TIME HAS COME!
IF YOU ARE SITTING THERE THINKING "I KNOW HER!" THEN GOOD ON YOU. BUT IF YOU HAVE NO CLUE WHO SHE IS THEN THAT IS VERY DISAPPOINTING AND YOU SHOULD READ ON TO FIND OUT WHO SHE IS . . . . . . . . .

I have been obsessed with Dakota for quite a while now and I absolutely ADORE her. I check up every 2 days on the internet to find out the latest gossip about her and I even know where one of her apartments is!! Ok, I hope you all don't think that I'm a stalker, I'm just really interested in her. Now to the real information:

Dakota Fanning is now 21 and her birthday is on February the 23rd (which was like a day ago!) and she lives in New York and attends NYC university. She has a younger sister called Elle Fanning who is also an actress and she is 16. You may know Dakota Fanning from some of these movies (I wont list them all).

The cat in the hat
Charlotte's web
The runaways
Very good girls
Now is good
Dreamer
I am Sam
Push
and like 30 more movies.

Dakota starting acting when she was 7 years old. In her kindergarten, every week the children would put on a play for their parents. Dakota's teacher was so impressed with her performances that she advised her mum and dad to get Dakota and agent. From then on Dakota became a STAR.

She is a really inspiring to me and I wish that I could meet her or her sister someday. If any of you are bored then search up some of her movies and watch them online!

BACK TO SCHOOL!

SCHOOL HAS STARTED AND I'M BACK INTO THE SCHOOL SYSTEM (YAY!).

I have to admit I'm actually really glad to be back to school because I had absolutely nothing to do in the holidays but read and draw. But now I'm back in the school system and I have plenty of work to do. The first couple of weeks at school have been really good and I enjoy being in Room 12 again. I sit next to Caitlin who Is really funny and friendly. I sit across Riley and JL who are actually really loud and annoying sometimes. The task system has been easy to pick up again and I am managing my time really well. Last year as a year seven in the first week of school I got the task sheet and there was like 5 tasks only on the sheet. When I saw this I was thinking "WHAT! OH MY GOSH THIS IS SO MANY TASKS, HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO FINISH THIS ALL!!"
This year in the first week of school when I got the task sheet I thought "What? This is only a few tasks. This is going to be easy!"

Some of the good points about the task system is that it helps me to manage my time really well and I know it will help prepare me for college for when I get a tone of work and don't know when to do it all. Some of the challenges of the task system is that I get lots of tasks sometimes and don't know how and when to complete it all.

If there were anything to change to how the class was run I would suggest
1. More independent work (to prepare for college)
2.Lots of Projects to complete
3.More writing stories and essays
and finally . . . . .
4. The class should always celebrate on people birthdays with candy, food etc.
(The last option isn't actually necessary, just a fun idea)

I wouldn't change anything to how the school is run because I think It's great the way it is!
I shall be back to write my next post soon . . . . . . .  Just remember to keep calm and love PIGEONS!! (AND CATS!)

ITS CHRISTMAS IN (something) DAYS!

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL READING THIS BLOG!!
SO . . . .
CHRISTMAS IS COMING AND I'M EXCITED.
BUT, MY MUM ISN'T!

My mum always says to us every Christmas, "Ohh, i just hate Christmas! Its a waste of time and money"
Its really sad because with miss Rodgers she told us that wellington is the city in New Zealand that hates Christmas the most!! It shocked me and every one else in the class. When she told us thiseveryone was just like "WHAT!"http://www.webdesignmash.com/trial/wp-content/uploads/2012/12/christmas-wallpaper-81.jpg

Anyways . . . . .
This year for Christmas my family is staying at home (As we always do). We always have Christmas dinner at our own house with both sets of my grandparents. Sadly this year one of my grandmothers is sick and is at a rest home so we cant celebrate it with her. My family and grandparents always make Greek food since that's what we like to eat. We never have turkey but we do have a ham. To be 100% honest with everyone my family has no traditions what so ever except for taping everyone eat and open presents which I'm sure every family does.

Since this is my last blog post of the year (this has got absolutely nothing to do with Christmas)  I just want to tell you all that kitty the neighbors cat brought us a sock a few days ago. I presume
it was because she wanted us to hang it on our Christmas tree so Santa could put some goodies in it. It was pink with frills at the top.

GOOD LUCK EVERYONE FOR NEXT YEAR AND HAVE A VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR
