But one recent book that I absolutely LOVE and want to share with you is
"LIFE AS WE KNEW IT" by Susan Beth Pfeffer.
(There are lots of covers)
Here I go.
This story is about a girl called Miranda. She's is just a normal ordinary girl like any other. So what happens is that on new years day an asteroid hits the moon and the moon starts getting closer to earth. When this happens all the families and people in the world loose electricity forever!!!! It only comes on for about maybe 1 hour is they're lucky. Also food is a big problem and they have to fast on food and stock up. All Miranda's family and all the other families can eat is canned food. So basically this story is about how Miranda and her family copes in this time.
Its a really sad and emotional story where lots of people die. What I like about this book is that it makes me want to read more and more and it never gets boring. Also it prepares me for the consequences for when an asteroid does hit the moon and comes closer to the earth. My favourite character would have to be Miranda's little brother. He sounds like a humourus character. It's sort of more of a diaryish book with the tiniest bit of romance in it. Only a tiny bit though. I'd recommend this book for people who like diary entries and a bit of scariness. Overall this was an absolutely fantastic book and would be suitable for the ages 11 and up. This book is the first in the last survivors trilogy.
