GALAPAGOS/EVOLUTION

Bonjour!
GruB gott!
AND WELCOME BACK TO THE WEEKLY KAT (Haha that rhymes!) HI Y'ALL , TODAY I WILL BE TALKING ABOUT MY KNOWLEDGE ABOUT THE GALAPAGOS ISLANDS AND EVOLUTION! READ ON TO FIND ABOUT SOME COOL STUFF ABOUT THIS..... (AND PLEASE don't be afraid to comment because I really like hearing from you guys!)

Hi Everyone! Welcome back to another post of THE WEEKLY KAT and just a heads up but this is NOT going to be a LONG, BORING and NOT INTERESTING POST so please read on....

I will now share with you some things i have learnt about The Galapagos Islands and Evolution below........

THE GALAPAGOS ISLANDS
  • Over 620 miles from North America there lays an archipelago called the Galapagos islands.
  • The islands used to be a bunch of volcanoes the erupted over 4 million years ago to create 13 (and more) STUNNING ISLANDS that tourists can visit anytime, any place.
  • They were named after the giant tortoises that roam the islands.
  • In the 17th, 18th and 19th century, the Galapagos tortoises were hunted down for meat and NEARLY BECAME EXTINCT!
  • Most animals arrived to Galapagos but either swimming, flying or floating on vegetation rafts.
  • The animals had to adapt A LOT to their environment
  • The animals also evolved in many different ways to be able to adapt.
  • Now there is SO MUCH MORE I could add to this but I don't want to go on an on and on (you get the point)
 EVOLUTION!
OK I WAS VERY CONFUSED WITH THIS TOPIC SO PLEASE FORGIVE ME IF I GET ANY OF THESE FACTS WRONG BECAUSE THIS WAS ACTUALLY REALLY HARD FOR ME TO TAKE IN. PLEASE FORGIVE ME!
  • Evolution took place on earth 3.6 billion years ago.
  • We started of as a gollum like creature and slowly made our way to become an ape like thing then became cave men (I think?) and I guess we then became humans.
  • Evolution is VERY difficult and is NOT an easy thing to learn!
  •  We became smarter through out the years, learning to use and build things easily
  •  Our kind bred with other people (I DON'T KNOW!) and we just I guess started changing in ways......
  •  Evolution is the gradual development of something
Some other things that I would like to learn this term that are related to this topic are maybe the worlds evolution or possibly more to do with human evolution and how it really began. Or maybe we could look further into the big bang and universe.....

I do have A FEW ideas about what we could do next term for our big social studies topic. I though maybe we could study either Ancient Rome or the Medeval times. But I've actaully taken a big interest into WW2 and I'm going to read Ann Frank's diary soon because WW2 is actually really fascinating to me. I would say we should do Ancient Greece but the thing is...... I've kinda learnt a bit about it from my Greek school teacher so i guess It wouldn't be much fun for me....

ITS NOW TIME FOR MY FLASH BACK MOMENT!
OK, remember how last week I introduced this to my blog? If not, scroll down to last weeks post and read the end bit for some more information about what this CRAZY THING SHES DOING IS! So what I thought about when I was writing this post was when I went on holiday to Rotorua with lots of my cousins. Rotorua was REALLY STINKY! I remember coming out of the pool and going to go get an ice cream with them. Dad was really nice and let me get a DOUBLE SCOOP! Just as I took my first lick, THE ICE CREAM FELL ON THE GROUND :( AND THE WOMAN IN FRONT OF ME TURNED AROUND AND POINTED AT MY FALLEN CONE AND WENT "OOOOOOOOOOOOOO" But the woman at the counter was so nice that she gave me anothe one FOR FREE! The reason I thought of this is because, Rotorua has hot pools which are sort of like volcanos and the Galapagos islands were made by volcanos so..... BOOM DID YOU SEE WHAT I DID!?

Thanks for reading and remember DON'T BE AFRAID TO COMMENT! AND please tell me your flash back moment while reading this? I really like hearing from you guys so no matter who you are DON'T BE AFRAID i wont bite!
