ALMOST A YEAR 8!

OK
This is my last year as a year seven and its sad.
The thing I like most about being a year seven is that I can walk up the inside stair way!!
Its not nice walking up the smelly compost way (I'm shivering just thinking about it, yuk!).

Anyway, next year I will be a year 8 and I am feeling really excited since this will be my first and last time in primary school!

Next year I'd like to become Bridgedene's house captain because I would really like to be a leader of the school and be a good role model to younger kids. I really want to become really good in maths and writing so that when I go to college I can write awesome stories and not be behind in maths. I also really want to become really good at art because right now I'm terrible at it.

What I'm looking forward to the most and probably what everyone is looking forward to is camp! I've never been on a 5 day camp away from home because my parents are very protective and I will miss little kitty who will miss me too. I have been on camp in year 6 but I have a 100% feeling that year 8 camp will be way much better.

Some things that could be challenging next year is the high expectations and work standards. Since I'm older now I presume the teachers will want me to have better work presented than I had as a year 7. Also, camp will be challenging when I'm in the sea because I have never swam in it before.  But hopefully I'll be alright.

That's me for now!
For the year 8's, good luck for college
and for the year 7's, try your best in everything you do!

MY SPEECH IS REVEALED . . . . . . .

PHEW!
IVE COMPLETED MY SPEECH! (yay!)
After long weeks of memorising I finally got to say it in front of the class!!!
I actually chose my speech topic is Term 2 and wrote it in term 4 so I've had lots of practises.
Now for the moment you've all been waiting for. . . . .
MY SPEECH WAS DREAMS! dream-quotes-images-1-ce0456eb1
I chose this because I really was eager to find out about what my dreams meant.

As I was performing my speech to room 12 I felt really good and not a tiny bit nervous. This is because last year as you all know I did my speech on how to overcome your fear of speeches. This helped me ALOT so yea :) I presume that I was ok while doing it and I really hope I didn't pace back and forth across the stage. Every body seemed interested in it maybe its because I was wearing my fox onesie but who knows. I think I was well organised with my props and that they gave the audience something to seem interested in. I only stumbled on one word that came out of my mouth as a sort of "bleah" way.

So far we've had soooo many speeches and my favourites would have to be Xara's speech, JMK's speech, Ben's speech and Sylvia's speech. If you'd like to see what their speech was about then you can go visit their blogs to find out more. This is a cute pic of a cat dreaming.

For the room 12 viewers I hope you enjoyed my speech!!

What was all your speeches about?

LIFE AS WE KNEW IT!

I  read heaps of books during my life . . . . . . .
But one recent book that I absolutely LOVE and want to share with you is

"LIFE AS WE KNEW IT" by Susan Beth Pfeffer.
Front Cover(There are lots of covers)

I am actually a bit of a spoiler but don't worry. Ill try do my best not to ruin the story.
Here I go.

This story is about a girl called Miranda. She's is just a normal ordinary girl like any other. So what happens is that on new years day an asteroid hits the moon and the moon starts getting closer to earth. When this happens all the families and people in the world loose electricity forever!!!! It only comes on for about maybe 1 hour is they're lucky. Also food is a big problem and they have to fast on food and stock up. All Miranda's family and all the other families can eat is canned food. So basically this story is about how Miranda and her family copes in this time.

Its a really sad and emotional story where lots of people die. What I like about this book is that it makes me want to read more and more and it never gets boring. Also it prepares me for the consequences for when an asteroid does hit the moon and comes closer to the earth. My favourite character would have to be Miranda's little brother. He sounds like a humourus character. It's sort of more of a diaryish book with the tiniest bit of romance in it. Only a tiny bit though. I'd recommend this book for people who like diary entries and a bit of scariness. Overall this was an absolutely fantastic book and would be suitable for the ages 11 and up. This book is the first in the last survivors trilogy.

SPEECHES!

Its Week 4 at school now and I'm freaking out!!
Speeches in two weeks!
Can you believe that?
Well believe it or not, its real.

As I said before I'm freaking out by the fact that speeches are in two weeks but to be honest I'm actually excited! It's not really that scary because you're just talking in front of a bunch of people that you have known for now probably a year or more. Its basically like talking to you're friends but in a different way. I am organized for my speech and hopefully It will go well and I wont have a random Spazz attack before I start it. In the past few years I have had some luck on my side. I got into the speech competitions with my "Why cats are better than dogs speech", "The many faces of Mr Bean speech" and "How to come overcome your fear of speeches speech". I don't know if this year my speech is the WOW factor but who knows.

This year I'm going to try not pace back and forth on the stage a lot. I know I did this in Room 9 for my speech a bit so I'm not going to make the same mistake again this year. I think to prevent this happening I should probably just stay calm and relax my feet. I might walk a little bit but in a casual way.

Just for a bit of speech advise . . . . DON'T FREAK OUT! STAY POSITIVE like my friend Unikitty!!!!!!! And don't look up at the ceiling or down at the floor when saying it.

 So . . . . . . . . .Good luck on your speeches!!

The Big Bang Theory

This term we are learning about space! The last time I did this was in room 10 and we made spaceships made out of cardboard and stuff. Anyway . . . . . I've learnt so much and Its only been 2 or 3 weeks! The most interesting thing that I've learnt about so far is the big bang theory which really made me think. What interested me about this was that I never knew how the world was actually formed and I just thought that the big bang theory was just this comedy show that my mum watches. The Big Bang Theory But it isn't!

I learnt that scientists believe that something small was in he middle of the universe and it just burst and created the whole world but then a question came to me and I wondered "If the big bang made the world then where did God come from and wasn't he the one who created the world? "
I thought about this for ages and asked my mum but she just said "Katerina just don't think about that stuff". So I didn't
but I still wonder now, this minute.

The Maze runner

The holidays are now officially over!!!!!!!
They were awesome and Id do anything to have them again.
Even though most of the time I was just sitting and watching Anastasia do homework it was pretty fun. The best thing I did in the holidays was see THE MAZE RUNNER! If you haven't seen this then you have to because it is that good. Its about a boy called Thomas who is stuck in this maze with some other people and are trying to find a way out.
Everyday the maze gates open so that people called the runners can go and see if they can find a way out. If they don't make it back to the campsite in time, the maze gates will close and they will be trapped in the maze and get killed by these gross this is the maze monsters called grievers. This is the maze. they are stuck in the middle of it and

In the end they find a way out thanks to Thomas and discovered that they had been put in the maze so it could challenge them for something. The only negative thing about this movie is that it ends with a cliff-hanger so there is bound to be another movie of this. My favourite character in the movie is this little chubby boy called chuck who gets shot at the end :( But overall It was a great but scary movie that I would defiantly watch again!

Tell me what you guys got up to in the holidays?

THE POSITIVES AND NEGATIVES ABOUT OUR SCHOOL PRODUCTION

Phew!
The production is over and done with and boy am I relieved. I have had sleepless nights trying to remember my lines and remember who i say it after. Over all I loved it and thought it was a great experience. This was my last ever production and I think it went quite well apart from when my medallion didn't come off (embarrassing). The only other thing that didn't go well that night is when one of my words came out in a bit of a jumble.

 Picture of me dancing >>>>>>

Some of the highlights of this production was being able to make cool props and have on of the lead roles in it. I quite enjoyed learning the dance Tainted love and watching the other classes perform. The scenes that I enjoyed the most were probably the last scene where both Aisling and I couldn't get our medallions off, The trading post which was performed by Room 9 and Room 6's scene (That was my dads absolute favorite).

As I was one of the main characters in the play I had to do quite a few scenes. I think I performed quite well but not as good as Samantha. I think I should've been facing the audience more but overall I think it was a pretty good performance. If the production was to be done again I think we should've explained my fluffy problem at the beginning because my parents only found out what was happening at the end. I also think that some of the kids should've had more lines to learn. I have enjoyed the experience of being in this production and hope to see the next up coming one!

Tell me what you guys liked about this production?
