This term we are learning about space! The last time I did this was in room 10 and we made spaceships made out of cardboard and stuff. Anyway . . . . . I've learnt so much and Its only been 2 or 3 weeks! The most interesting thing that I've learnt about so far is the big bang theory which really made me think. What interested me about this was that I never knew how the world was actually formed and I just thought that the big bang theory was just this comedy show that my mum watches.
But it isn't!
I learnt that scientists believe that something small was in he middle of the universe and it just burst and created the whole world but then a question came to me and I wondered "If the big bang made the world then where did God come from and wasn't he the one who created the world? "
I thought about this for ages and asked my mum but she just said "Katerina just don't think about that stuff". So I didn't
but I still wonder now, this minute.
The holidays are now officially over!!!!!!!
They were awesome and Id do anything to have them again.
Even though most of the time I was just sitting and watching Anastasia do homework it was pretty fun. The best thing I did in the holidays was see THE MAZE RUNNER! If you haven't seen this then you have to because it is that good. Its about a boy called Thomas who is stuck in this maze with some other people and are trying to find a way out.
Everyday the maze gates open so that people called the runners can go and see if they can find a way out. If they don't make it back to the campsite in time, the maze gates will close and they will be trapped in the maze and get killed by these gross this is the maze monsters called grievers.
This is the maze. they are stuck in the middle of it and
In the end they find a way out thanks to Thomas and discovered that they had been put in the maze so it could challenge them for something. The only negative thing about this movie is that it ends with a cliff-hanger so there is bound to be another movie of this. My favourite character in the movie is this little chubby boy called chuck who gets shot at the end :( But overall It was a great but scary movie that I would defiantly watch again!
Tell me what you guys got up to in the holidays?
Phew!
The production is over and done with and boy am I relieved. I have had sleepless nights trying to remember my lines and remember who i say it after. Over all I loved it and thought it was a great experience. This was my last ever production and I think it went quite well apart from when my medallion didn't come off (embarrassing). The only other thing that didn't go well that night is when one of my words came out in a bit of a jumble.
Picture of me dancing >>>>>>
Some of the highlights of this production was being able to make cool props and have on of the lead roles in it. I quite enjoyed learning the dance Tainted love and watching the other classes perform. The scenes that I enjoyed the most were probably the last scene where both Aisling and I couldn't get our medallions off, The trading post which was performed by Room 9 and Room 6's scene (That was my dads absolute favorite).
As I was one of the main characters in the play I had to do quite a few scenes. I think I performed quite well but not as good as Samantha. I think I should've been facing the audience more but overall I think it was a pretty good performance. If the production was to be done again I think we should've explained my fluffy problem at the beginning because my parents only found out what was happening at the end. I also think that some of the kids should've had more lines to learn. I have enjoyed the experience of being in this production and hope to see the next up coming one!
Tell me what you guys liked about this production?
THE PRODUCTION IS GOING TO BE COMING UP SO SOON! AND I'M SOOOOOO EXCITED!!!!
On a Wednesday the whole school will be going down to Victoria theater to rehearse our production (both Wednesday and Thursday night actors/ actresses). I am really excited yet scared but I'm trying to stay 100% positive.
Here is a picture of positivity that always helps me in bad times.
As you all know I absolutely LOVE unkitty.
I'm really looking forward to acting in the production as I have never really had a main role in the production or had a speaking part. Quite a few people from my family are coming to see me on Thursday night. These people are my mum, dad, sister, god father and my sister's friend Esme. You may think this isn't a lot of people but trust me IT IS for me.
I have to come to the theater at about 6:00pm so I can get ready but my parents are sort of struggling to sort out what time we should leave and what time we should eat and pick up Anastasia's friend. I think that my dad might take me in his car really early so we can find a park because finding parking in the past few years has been stressful. My parents don't know what time I have to arrive on both nights so I will probably tell them that.
If you are stressing out for the production and so are you parents . . . . . . .
Remind yourself and your parents to stay positive and think of UNIKITTY and what she would do. So just remember to stay positive!
Tell me what you are really looking forward to for the production?
Our new topic this term is about The elections that are coming up and parliament. I never really understood what parliament was about or how the elections have worked but I have learnt a few things from class and my sister is also told me a bit about it (She is learning about parliament in her college, Coincidence!).
One really interesting fact that I have learnt is that parliament actually comes from the word"parler" in french. This means to talk, to speak and lots of other words that relate to talk. I also found out what MMP stands for ( Mixed Member Proportional). In class we talked a bit about the building part of parliament which were the beehive (also known as the executive wing), The parliament library, the Bowen house and the parliament house.
Here is a picture of the four buildings
I learnt about the debating chamber and how it is used for lots of things. It can be used for debating people who are in the news and for hosting school things. But it is mostly used for debating (Arguing about a subject in a formal manner). The sovereign (Head of state) Is not allowed to enter the debating chamber due to an issue that happened with a king in the 1800's. This means governor general is not allowed in the debating chamber.
This is a picture of what a debating chamber looks like.
I have learnt heaps of interesting facts about parliament from just 1 lesson and it all makes sense to me.
Tell me what you guys have learnt about parliament?
This term I have completed only a few reading challenges. I absolutely love to read books when I have some free time but none of them fit into the categories that are on the list. These are some of the challenges on the list :
10 book challenge: Read 10 books in one term
20 book challenge: Read 20 books in one term
Random challenge: Read a book that you pick off a shelf looking without looking
Series Challenge: Read 3 books in a series
Classic challenge: Read a book from the classic series section of the list.
Family challenge: Read a book recommended by a family member
Space challenge: Read a book set in space
The challenges I have done from this list are: The 10 book challenge, Random challenge and the Series challenge. I am planning to do the family and classic challenge next. My dad has recommended the rangers apprentice for me to read so I think I might read that next. For the classic challenge I might read little woman.
The book I have read for the random challenge is Hex hall. The books I read for the series challenge was the two other books in the series of hex hall (Demon glass and Spell Bound). These books are quite good and are written by Rachel Hawkins. I have read some other books from her and they are also very good. For the 10 book challenge I have read Hex hall, Demon glass, Spell bound, Rebel Belle, School spirits, Else where, If I just had two wings, Dork diaries 7, Dork diaries and Nanny Piggins 3.
Suggest book down below for me to read :)
Think of this . . . . . .
Going outside, getting muddy and going out in the cold rain just to throw or kick a ball.
Now think of this . . . . . . .
Nice cozy outfit, warm inside, dancing and stretching . . .
Now which one of these would you prefer?
For me it would be number 2 because that is what I do.
If you chose number 1 well then think again.
I don't play any rough sports including balls or bats etc. But I do ballet! Some people might not consider it as a sport but I do because its the only thing I can do well. I'm a grade 6 in ballet now (yay!) and will be starting point next year. This is the best sport ever!!!! If your a boy and are reading this post I'd just like to say that not only girls do ballet but so do boys! It is a nice and calming sport that includes good arm and leg movement.
It does not hurt you in any way and is really cool. Some people i know have quit ballet but I tell you that if you are one of those people reading this right now, join again. It might not be fun when your grade 1 but once your at my level its amazing! The benefits of this sport is that you are able to stretch better and become more flexible. The skills you learn are how to do an arebesk, pardeboregh and lots of other french word movements. Some people find ballet boring but what makes it fun is if you make it fun and enjoy your self and stay positive all of the time!! If your going to be all sad and dopey its not going to be much fun. So if your a boy or girl I sujest you sign up for ballet today and give it a try (Trust me it'll be worth it).
If you have a question about ballet just ask me down below!
These are point shoes by the way. When you get to grade 6 in ballet you get to go on point! So get amongst ballet today.
