Let it go!!

Sometimes I like to sit back and sing songs in my head . . . . . . .
But I don't really know what their about or what the words mean. There is one or two songs that I do get and one of those songs is "Let it go" sung by Idina Menzel. It is a song in the movie Frozen and all you hear these days is people constantly singing this song . It is such an inspirational and meaningful song to me and I actually get what it means.

This song is basically about letting go, putting the past in the past and just taking away the feelings that control you and pushing them away! It does sound weird but when you think about it, it all makes sense. I like this song because its absolutely fun to sing and catchy and its got some good lessons and inspirational stuff in it. Its defiantly in the top five of my song list because its that good! If you haven't heard the song let it go then you should go onto you tube and search up

Idina Menzel - Let It Go (from "Frozen")

. I guarantee you'll love it!

Tell me what songs are meaningful to you?

Until next time . . . .

MY EGYPTIAN ARTWOK!

In the past few weeks room 12 and 11 have been learning about ancient Egypt and taking making Egyptian art work. We put a picture of an Egyptian on a page and surrounded it by hieroglyphics. My picture is of a person who is sitting on his chair with a woman worshiping him. The woman is cropped out of this picture though. I used blue, yellow, black, pink and brown die.  We painted it with a thin brush and outlined it with a black sharpie or vivid. It took quite a while to do but it was really fun! What I liked about this painting is that I think I nailed the picture in the middle and none of the die used in my painting has bled out of the sharpie.  I really like how I drew all the hieroglyphics because they were all perfect and drawn to scale!

Here is a picture of my art!

What did you guys draw for your painting?

This week has been packed with Egyptian activities hosted by my classmates. I have learnt so much out of all of it such as the names of the gods and what their powers are. I also learnt that Cleopatra had children and she was a queen of Egypt and that the Egyptians actually had bows and arrows! There is heaps more information that I have learnt but I won't list all of them.

The activities that i learnt most from was probably the Cleopatra, farming and gods activities. These were very interesting and made me want to hear more and more. We also had an activity to complete after a slide show with information on it.

Here is a picture of the gods I learnt about

Our class was packed with activities running through lunch to the end of the day. Some of my favorite activities to do were making a collage of Cleopatra which was a big flop, Playing hunger games on mine craft (which i was terrible at because i was the first to dye by drowning in lava)! The best activity that I enjoyed the most and thought passed the time well was playing gods dodge ball. Thanks to all the organizers who put lots of effort into their slideshows and activities!

Tell me what you guys did for your Egypt group activity or slideshow?

GYMNASTICS!

This term we've been learning how to do Gymnastics at Nairnville. Most of the stuff is super easy but some things are not easy at all for me. At the beginning of Nairnville we have a little warm up game to get our bodies moving. We then do some stretches (for me its tricky) and then get put into 3 groups.

There are 3 activities to complete. Each activity is for 11 minutes each and so once we finish the one we are on we do a rotation to the next activity. This sounds super confusing but its really easy (probably because Ive been down to Nairnville in the past years, heaps of times)!

What I really liked about This Gymnastics session at Nairnville is the part where you get to do hand stands. I think I have really improved in them and my friends also say so too!

But also there is one other thing that has been awesome which was this sort of air-mat that you can bounce on and do cool stuff on. The challenging part for me was doing a sort of exercise you had to learn off by heart and do it in time with the person in front or behind you. I was terrible at it!

Some thing new i learnt

WOW! So many new things that i learnt this term! But one of the most recent things Ive learnt is subtraction working form.

This is what subtraction working form looks like

Its so useful and its much easier then having to take things of numbers and constantly having to put your brain through lots of work. This new method Ive learnt is exactly like working form except subtracting. I already knew how to do subtraction working form but I learnt a different harder way with my dad whether this new way that Ms R Bolger taught me is very simple.

This is a method that i shall forever remember no matter what because its the best method I have learnt in my life! When I concentrate it helps me learn but find also find out new things I havent learnt. Repeating thing in my head millions of times helps me to remember and learn and also when i take down notes (In my case writing biography etc).

THE WIND SINGER

Book groups have been really fun this term and I'm reading The wind singer with Aisling, Elizabeth Samantha and Catherine. We all had great ideas and really good conversations that we all understood. Everything went really well and everyone in my group contributed to everything we said. Although sometimes our conversations led into different book conversation and we were sometimes a bit off topic.

Nothing else went wrong in our book group and we have enjoyed the book a lot and cant wait to see what happens at the end of it. I've gained better reading skills because I don't just skip the lines or skim through them but I actually take a good look at them and can understand the book a lot more when I read bit by bit a time. This book is an excellent book with cool and funny characters with an adventure sort of theme to it. So if your looking for a book to read I guarantee you would want to read the wind singer!

BOOK I ENJOYED AS A YOUNGSTER!

I've read many books in my past which were all brilliant but one book in particular stood out and made me wanna read more and more of it. This book was the 1st nanny Piggins in the series. I was 9 years old (not so long ago) when i read this book. It is called Nanny Piggins written by RA Sprat.

What happens in this book is that a man called Mr green wants a nanny to look after his 3 children Derrick, Michal and Samantha who all hate their father. He ends up hiring Nanny Piggins (Who is a pig) because he only had to pay her 10c and hour!  All the chapters in this book are different and its mostly about Nanny Piggins and the 3 children. They get up to mischievous things and have the time of their lives with their nanny. I forgot to tell you that Nanny Piggins LOVES chocolate so much they eat it for breakfast, lunch and dinner!

What I liked about this book is that its funny and their are really cool characters and names in this book. I also liked how they've set out the characters different personalities.  I read this book by myself and also a teacher once read it to us in class. It is an amazing story and i recommend it for all people who love comedy and pigs!
